2026 summer schedule: Adjustments through the end of June now implemented

As part of the announced adjustments to the 2026 summer schedule, the new timetable for June has now been finalized and published in the reservation systems.

  • The following routes from/to Frankfurt remain suspended: Stavanger, Bydgoszcz and Rzeszów.
  • Flights on the Munich–Gdańsk route will be consolidated via the Frankfurt hub, Munich–Sibiu via the Vienna hub, and the Frankfurt–Cork connection via the Zurich hub.
  • The connections from Frankfurt to Katowice and Newcastle will be discontinued. Newcastle continues to be served via Berlin and Düsseldorf with Eurowings.
  • In addition, Lufthansa flights previously operated from Munich and Frankfurt to Bordeaux will be consolidated via Munich; Lufthansa flights from Frankfurt to Glasgow and Heringsdorf will be rerouted via Zurich; and flights from Frankfurt to Skopje will now be offered via Vienna.
  • In a further step, flights between Frankfurt and Stuttgart will be discontinued as of June 2026. For the Frankfurt–Stuttgart route, Lufthansa passengers will have access to up to 15 daily connections via the Lufthansa Express Rail service, running from Stuttgart Central Station to Frankfurt Airport.
  • Stuttgart will remain connected to the Munich hub by air. To support this, Lufthansa will expand its flight offer from Stuttgart to Munich and deploy larger aircraft on the four daily connections.
  • Furthermore, SWISS connections to the Zurich hub and Austrian Airlines connections to the Vienna hub from Stuttgart will remain unchanged. Passengers will therefore continue to have a wide range of options to access the Lufthansa Group's global network.
  • The Lufthansa Group summer schedule offer at Stuttgart is complemented by Eurowings, with around 68 domestic German and European direct destinations and approximately 377 flights per week.
  • Additionally, in June, individual daily flight frequencies from Frankfurt and Munich on particularly high-frequency domestic German and European routes will be reduced, along with isolated single-day cancellations.

Background information on the flight schedule adjustments:

Following the decision to immediately discontinue Lufthansa CityLine flights and to reduce economically unviable flights going forward due to high fuel prices, the Lufthansa Group's summer capacity will decrease by just under one percent of available seat kilometers.

In response, the Lufthansa Group is acting swiftly and will consolidate the European schedule across all Lufthansa Group airlines, removing a total of 20,000 flights from the schedule through the end of October.
