From June, 3, 2025, Lufthansa is expanding its route network to include Oradea in western Romania. The traditional city with around 220,000 inhabitants is considered the economic center of the region. Thanks to its location, Oradea offers ideal access to the surrounding economic centers

The cities of Debrecen (70 km), Cluj (150 km), Timișoara (170 km) and Budapest (230 km) are easily accessible. The region offers great opportunities, particularly for international companies from the automotive, electronics, mechanical engineering and IT sectors. Companies with headquarters in the USA, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Italy, France and Finland are already active in the region.

As of June 3, 2025, Lufthansa will offer non-stop service between Oradea and its Munich hub three times a week with a CRJ-900. Business travelers will benefit from seamless connections within the global Lufthansa Group network and optimized travel times to the Western Romania region.
