Using Wi-Fi onboard – what you should know

To ensure fast onboard connectivity while preserving a quiet and pleasant cabin environment, we kindly ask all passengers to follow these simple guidelines:

Headphones are essential

If you’re enjoying any content with audio, whether for work or entertainment, please make sure to use headphones. Playing sound aloud isn’t allowed. And please don’t forget to pay attention to the safety demonstration.

No calls during the flight

Active speaking voice and video calls are not permitted onboard – even with headphones.
You can still send messages, emails, or chat as usual.

No broadcasting

Actively broadcasting live video or audio (e.g. on social media platforms) isn’t allowed. Recording content for later sharing is fine, but please respect the privacy of other passengers and crew.

Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi offers faster, more powerful onboard internet access – free of charge.

You can enjoy streaming, cloud-based working and other high-bandwidth applications throughout your flight. Compared to existing internet service, Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi provides a significantly enhanced onboard connectivity experience.

At the beginning of the rollout, Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi is only available on selected aircraft. Therefore, it is not yet possible to check availability before your flight.

As the service becomes available on more aircraft, a flight search function will be introduced on the Lufthansa Group airlines' websites.

If your aircraft is equipped with Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi, follow these steps to connect via the Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi portal.

1. Enable Flight Mode on your device.

2. Turn on Wi-Fi.

3. Connect to the onboard Wi-Fi network "Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi".

4. After connecting, you will automatically be redirected to the login portal. If the portal does not open automatically, enter the airline specific address (see below) in your browser's address bar. You will then be redirected to the login portal.

Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi is free of charge for members of a Lufthansa Group loyalty programme and for Travel ID users. If you do not yet have a Travel ID, you can register easily and free of charge, even during your flight.
