Green Fares become Impact Fares

(2 November 2026)

The Lufthansa Group is renaming its Green Fares as Impact Fares. The existing fare offer will continue under the new name, which places greater emphasis on travelers’ contribution to more sustainable air travel.*

By choosing Impact Fares, travelers support the additional use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) within the Lufthansa Group’s route network. They also contribute to selected climate protection projects outside the company’s value chain. Depending on the project, these initiatives help avoid or remove CO₂ emissions. Travelers also benefit from additional Miles & More Miles and Points, along with the benefits included with the respective fare.

Impact Fares are available in all travel classes.

Available since 2023

Impact Fares continue the offer introduced as Green Fares in 2023 under a new name. “Impact” reflects the intended positive contribution of the measures supported through these fares. Since their introduction, more than five million passengers have booked these fares.

* Every contribution supports the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) beyond regulatory requirements. Although SAF produces similar CO₂ emissions when burned as fossil kerosene, the SAF used by the Lufthansa Group achieves at least 80% lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions on an annual average. It is added to the Lufthansa Group fuel supply within six months of booking and is not used on your individual flight. The supported amount corresponds to the stated share of your flight’s estimated CO₂ emissions. Aviation also causes non-CO₂ climate effects. In addition, your contribution supports selected climate protection projects in Europe and worldwide that avoid emissions or remove and store CO₂ outside the aviation industry, such as reforestation or direct air capture projects.
