Many Asian countries relax entry requirements

Relaxations in entry requirements are also making themselves felt in Asia: India, Japan, Singapore and South Korea, among others, have now decided to relax and partially lift their corona measures and entry regulations. This makes it easier again for business travelers to travel to these countries.

An overview of the adjusted entry requirements of the respective countries:

India: resumption of regular air traffic.

During the pandemic, only aircraft from certain countries, including Germany, were allowed to fly directly to India under certain conditions. India had signed bilateral agreements with these countries. Regular international air traffic has resumed since March 27.

Japan: entry for business travelers possible again

Foreign nationals with visas for business travel and medium- and long-term stays (with Certificate of Eligibility), including previously issued visas, can now re-enter Japan. Visas can also be reapplied for.

In addition, Japan has shortened the quarantine requirement: business travelers from most countries who have a booster vaccination (BioNTech or Moderna) recognized by Japan do not require a quarantine. Travelers from countries designated as requiring quarantine by the Japanese government can now spend the seven-day quarantine in their own home or self-organized accommodation. After three days, the quarantine can be terminated with a negative test.

Lufthansa Group airlines will take you to Tokyo up to 7 times per week.

Singapore: Vaccinated travel lane lifted.

Effective 11:59 p.m. (Singapore local time) on March 31, 2022, the Vaccinated Travel Lane will be repealed. From this date, all fully vaccinated travelers will be able to enter Singapore without quarantine and there will be no more VTL-tagged flights.

Lufthansa Group airlines will take you to Singapore up to 19 times a week. Up to 7 times a week from Frankfurt and Munich, and up to 5 times a week from Zurich.

South Korea: abolish quarantine for fully vaccinated people.

South Korea has been one of the countries with the most restrictive travel regulations since the pandemic began. Starting in April, individuals with full vaccination protection will again be allowed to enter the country without quarantine. Persons are considered to be fully protected if the second vaccination took place at least 14 days and not more than 180 days ago. Alternatively, booster vaccination is also recognized as sufficient protection.

Before departure to South Korea, travelers must fill out an entry form - the QR code generated in the process is scanned upon arrival at the airport.

Lufthansa Group airlines will take you to Seoul up to 2 times daily.
