More choice before takeoff: Lufthansa expands its “Onboard Delights” catering offer

Lufthansa has expanded its catering choices in Economy Class on short- and medium-haul flights and its Pre-Select service in Business Class on long-haul flights returning to Germany.

On continental routes with a flight time of two hours or more, travelers can pre-order one of five hot meals:

• beef roulade with potato dumplings,
• chicken teriyaki,
• tortellini in tomato sauce with zucchini,
• “Die Echte” currywurst from Donninghaus,
• a cheeseburger from “HANS IM GLUCK”

Lufthansa is also offering a new service to Business Class passengers on long-haul flights. Since August 2023, they have been able to pre-select their main course on flights departing from Frankfurt and Munich. Since 1 September, 2026, this service has been expanded to most long-haul flights returning to Germany. Travelers can now choose from six main courses instead of the previous three.

For both offers, orders or selections can be made from four weeks until 24 hours before departure. Pre-ordering guarantees the guests that their desired meal will be waiting for them on board – for a relaxed and predictable journey.
