Discontinuation of Star Alliance Biometrics

Because of technological and regulatory developments, the Lufthansa Group has discontinued its biometric facial recognition service at Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, and Vienna airports. Star Alliance Biometrics enabled frequent flyers to access security checks and gates more quickly and with minimal contact. The Lufthansa Group will still continue to focus on biometrics in the future and will develop a new concept for biometric passenger recognition.
