Lufthansa flies in historic parabola design
(3 March 2026)
To mark its 100th anniversary, Lufthansa is presenting an Airbus A321 in the historic parabola livery. Introduced in the mid1950s, the design was inspired by the streamlined aesthetic of the 1930s. The sweeping line was intended to convey dynamism, speed and a forward-looking spirit. The parabola line was not only visible on the aircraft's tail fins, but also on baggage tags, business documents, flight schedules, and even cigar bands.
Almost 70 years after its maiden flight for Lufthansa, this iconic parabola design can once again be seen in the skies.
