SWISS joins Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program
(6 November 2025)
Over a billion people worldwide live with an invisible disability such as autism, ADHD, dementia, or epilepsy. Air travel can be particularly challenging for these individuals. To provide them with the best possible support, SWISS has now joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program.
A green lanyard with a sunflower motif allows those affected to discreetly indicate that they need more time, patience, help, or understanding in certain situations.
The lanyards are available free of charge at various locations at Zurich and Geneva airports.
Zurich Airport (ZRH)
- Check-in 1 PRM Pick-up Point (meeting point for travelers with reduced mobility)
- Check-in 2 PRM Pick-up Point (meeting point for travelers with reduced mobility)
- Supervisor counter at Check-in 1 and Transit
- Information counter Arrivals 2
Geneva Airport (GVA)
- GVassistance Lounge in Terminal 1
Wearing the lanyard does not replace the airport’s passenger assistance and wheelchair services. Rather, it is about awareness, respect, and empathy that employees show to those affected at all points of contact.
