Following the successful introduction of United Airlines Prime Code integration, the Lufthansa Group’s NDC offering continues to grow, opening up new opportunities for travel agencies, travel managers, and anyone planning and booking travel to organize more personalized and efficient trips. The new interlining option with Air Canada offers more choice, shorter travel times, and more effective scheduling by combining flights from the Lufthansa Group and Air Canada.
Air Canada Prime flight numbers (operated by Air Canada) can now be booked via NDC for flights for which no Lufthansa Group codeshare flights are available. This interlining addition greatly simplifies the booking of flights marketed by Lufthansa Group airlines and Air Canada and provides more flight options to choose from.
When is the new interlining option available?
- When an Air Canada Prime flight number is combined with a Lufthansa Group flight on the transatlantic route.
- When Lufthansa Group is the fare owner and ticket issuer.
- When no Lufthansa Group codeshare is available on the desired flight.
- For travel to or from North, Central, or South America or the Caribbean, with a transfer in Canada or the US.
The new interlining options of Lufthansa Group airlines are now available via the Direct NDC API, selected NDC aggregators, and the SPRK booking tool.
Benefit from a wider choice of destinations, greater flexibility, and innovative combination options—all seamlessly integrated via NDC.
With this expansion of its NDC channels, the Lufthansa Group is setting another milestone and underlining its commitment to the Atlantic joint venture. At the same time, we are consistently driving forward the comprehensive NDC transformation and strengthening our position to provide our partners and customers with even more competitive offers on transatlantic routes.
