Cash & Points makes best use of existing Benefit points – flexibly, transparently, and without any additional effort. Whether by using your Benefit points, credit card or both – the choice is yours.

Cash & Points: points redemption reimagined

It works like this

Benefit points can be redeemed directly through the PartnerPlusBenefit website. Log in as usual, select Cash & Points, and then simply use Benefit points for any flight on lufthansa.com. All bookable flights are available, regardless of travel class or destination. On the payment page, you can use the slider flexibly in 5% increments to determine how many Benefit points will be used and what amount will be paid by credit card – from 0% to 100%. This ensures you maintain full control over your budget and points usage – with a noticeable effect on travel costs. If you pay 100% in cash, the flights are automatically recorded and Benefit points credited.

By the way,  Miles & More members can still collect miles for every booking, equal to the amount of the total ticket price.

We have recently introduced Cash & Points to offer even greater booking flexibility for our PartnerPlusBenefit program. Discover how Cash & Points works and how your company can make the most of flexible flight bookings using Benefit points and cash.

Cash & Points is a hybrid payment method that allows PartnerPlusBenefit members to redeem Benefit points directly for flights or combine them flexibly with a cash payment. After logging in via PartnerPlusBenefit and selecting Cash & Points, you first visit the Cash & Points page to enter your flight details. You will then be directed to Lufthansa.com, where your PartnerPlusBenefit profile ensures you are automatically recognized—no separate profile creation is needed.

On the payment page, you can use the slider to set the ratio of points and cash in 5% increments, from 0% to 100% points. The remaining amount is paid by credit card. This process is simple, flexible, and fully integrated into the regular booking flow.

All flights operated by Lufthansa as well as a wide range of partner airlines within the Lufthansa Group and the broader Star Alliance network, in any travel class and to any destination, are eligible—there is no booking class restriction. Even the last available seat can be booked.

Cash & Points tickets are considered regular flight tickets, which means the fare conditions of the booked tariff apply. Rebookings can be made just like with fully paid tickets—either online via Lufthansa.com under “Manage my booking” (if only a time/date change is needed), or through the Lufthansa Help Centers. Please note that rebooking fees cannot be paid with Benefit points.

For cancellations, please contact the PartnerPlusBenefit Service Center. If a refund is granted, it will be processed using the same cash-to-points ratio as used in the original booking.

Tickets bought with Cash & Points do not earn Benefit points, but Miles & More members still earn Miles & More Points based on the total ticket price. If a ticket is bought with a split payment of Benefit points and Cash, there is no Benefit points accural, only Miles & More earnings. When you pay entirely in cash, you earn Benefit points as usual, along with your Miles & More Points.

Benefit Free Flights are available only in specific booking classes on Lufthansa Group and participating Benefit partner airlines. These tickets must be booked exclusively through the PartnerPlusBenefit Service Center. Cash & Points is available for all flights booked on lufthansa.com. It’s a fully self-service option that includes taxes and fees in the price—and you’ll still earn Miles & More Points on your booking.

Five best uses to get the most out of PartnerPlusBenefit and Cash & Points

A strategic combination of cash and points can be a smart approach to optimize your travel budget. Regardless of whether you have a limited number of points or are seeking flexibility, these five tips will assist you in taking full advantage of the benefits of Cash & Points.

  • When Benefit points are low
    If a full award is not available, the Cash & Points option allows for immediate booking without waiting to earn more, reducing the cash cost according to points spent.

  • Last-minute bookings
    The Cash & Points option is often a viable choice for spontaneous trips when there is limited availability but you still want to minimize costs.

  • Day trips with Economy Light
    Planning a day trip? Paying for an Economy Light fare without checked baggage can easily be done entirely with points.

  • Using Cash & Points and pay 100% cash
    Even if you pay 100% in cash, you can choose the Cash & Points booking option and enjoy automatic crediting of your Benefit points.

  • Avoiding Benefit point expiration
    If your Benefit points are close to expiring, Cash & Points is an easy way to use them without needing a full redemption – saving travel costs on top.

How to book ancillaries with Cash & Points

Cash & Points is designed to keep your processes simple: you pay the fare,taxes & fees with a mix of Benefit points and cash, then handle ancillaries in a familiar way. The key is to know which option applies when you add ancillaries.

        1.  During the Cash & Points booking flow: credit card only

If you add ancillaries while you are still in the Cash & Points booking process, you can choose services such as seat reservation or additional baggage. These ancillaries are not paid with Benefit points, they are always paid by credit card. Only the fare and taxes & fees can be settled using Cash & Points.

There are two important limitations in this step:

  • PET in cabin
  • Insurance benefits

These services cannot be booked within the Cash & Points flow. If they are selected, the Cash & Points booking process will not be supported further and the full ticket must be paid in cash.

        2.  After ticketing: use Benefit points via the Service Center
Once the Cash & Points ticket has been issuedyou can also pay for selected ancillaries with Benefit points. To do this, please contact the PartnerPlusBenefit Service Center, who can redeem Benefit points for:

  • Seat reservations
  • Extra baggage
  • Lounge vouchers
  • VIP Service at Frankfurt Airport
