Skytrax Awards 2026: recognition for Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines

Lufthansa was named number one in the "World's Best First Class Onboard Dining" category. Based on votes from travelers in more than 100 countries, the award recognizes Lufthansa’s culinary excellence together with the outstanding work of its First Class cabin crews, whose expertise and precision in preparing and serving meals contribute decisively to the dining experience.

The distinction reflects Lufthansa’s ongoing investment in the premium travel experience, including enhanced onboard services, modernized cabins, new aircraft, and the introduction of its refined First Class dining concept developed as part of the airline’s broader premium initiative. 

Austrian Airlines received multiple distinctions at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, including the top rankings for "Best Cabin Crew in Europe" and "Best Cabin Crew in Western Europe". The airline also ranked second in the category "Best Airline Staff in Europe".

The awards highlight Austrian Airlines' service culture, marked by professionalism, warmth, and Austrian hospitality. These qualities are reflected in the airline's international recognition, including its position as the only European airline among the world's top 20 cabin crews.
