In summer 2027, Discover Airlines will introduce new nonstop service between Munich (MUC) and Alghero (AHO), adding another Mediterranean leisure destination to its network. Beginning in June, flights will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, offering travelers convenient access to northwestern Sardinia.

The new service complements existing nonstop flights from Munich to Olbia in northeastern Sardinia and Cagliari in the south. Travelers will now also have direct access to the island's northwestern coast.

Known for its picturesque old town, relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, and easy access to some of Sardinia’s most stunning beaches, Alghero is an ideal destination for summer getaways. The new route also makes it easier to explore different parts of the island during a single trip.

For summer 2027, Discover Airlines will increase service between Frankfurt (FRA) and Jerez de la Frontera (XRY), offering up to four flights per week.

Stretching along Spain's Atlantic coast, the Costa de la Luz is known for its wide sandy beaches, charming whitewashed villages, and authentic Andalusian character. Jerez de la Frontera, at the heart of the famous Sherry Triangle, is an ideal gateway for travelers looking to combine coastal relaxation, local gastronomy, and cultural discovery.

Discover Airlines will launch its first-ever destinations in the United Kingdom in summer 2027. New additions include Bristol in England as well as Glasgow and Inverness in Scotland. Discover Airlines will be the only airline offering nonstop flights from Frankfurt to all three destinations, with Glasgow also served from Munich.

The new routes are ideal gateways to some of the UK’s most scenic regions. Bristol provides easy access to southwest England and the picturesque Cotswolds, while Glasgow and Inverness are excellent starting points for exploring the Scottish Highlands. The famous Loch Ness is also just a short drive from Inverness.

These new routes expand Discover Airlines offer for travelers who want to explore England and Scotland beyond the classic metropolitan destinations.

Starting 28 March 2027, Discover Airlines will fly twice weekly from Frankfurt to Genoa. The new route complements the existing Lufthansa Group service from Munich and creates additional travel options via the Frankfurt hub.

Genoa, the capital of Liguria, is home to one of Europe’s largest historic city centers, magnificent palazzi, and a lively waterfront promenade. The city is also an ideal starting point for exploring the Ligurian Riviera, including popular coastal destinations such as Portofino and the Cinque Terre.

Starting in 2027, Discover Airlines will add two seasonal destinations to its route network: Savonlinna in summer and Kajaani in winter.

Starting mid-June through the end of August 2027, Discover Airlines will operate weekly flights from Frankfurt to Savonlinna (SVL). Located in the heart of Finland’s Lake Saimaa region, Savonlinna is one of the country’s leading nature and leisure destinations, known for its countless lakes, forests, and islands. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, active holidays, and relaxing getaways.

In winter, Kajaani (KAJ) will become a new destination in Finland’s Arctic Lakeland region. The route will operate once a week from mid-December 2027 through the end of March 2028. Often regarded as an authentic alternative to Finnish Lapland, the region offers Northern Lights, dog sledding, snowmobile adventures, and unique winter activities on frozen lakes, including floating saunas, Arctic floating, and ice-driving experiences.

Savonlinna is already available for booking. Kajaani will be available for booking starting in December 2026.

Discover Airlines is further expanding its service to Namibia: starting in April 2027, the airline will operate year-round flights from Munich to Windhoek (WDH) five times a week—adding two additional frequencies on Mondays and Thursdays.

Combined with the daily flights from Frankfurt, a total of 12 weekly connections will be available going forward. This expansion responds to the strong demand for this popular destination.

Flight times are well suited for travelers: departures from Munich at 21:40 (LT), arriving in Windhoek the following morning. Return flights leave Windhoek at 20:35 (LT), arriving the next morning at 06:30 (LT). The route is operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which will gradually be equipped with the new “Ocean Blue” cabin starting 2027.

Strong growth for a high-demand destination

Windhoek has been part of the Discover Airlines route network since 2021 and was among its first destinations. Consistently high booking figures highlight the destination’s popularity. By expanding its Munich service, the airline is strengthening its presence in the Africa market and offering even more travel options to one of the continent’s most fascinating countries.

Due to strong demand, Discover Airlines will operate more frequent flights to popular destinations in the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean in winter 2026/2027. From Frankfurt, the Maldives (MLE) will see an additional weekly service during peak season (February to March 2027), while the Seychelles (SEZ) and Mauritius (MRU) will each be served with one extra weekly flight. Both destinations will be offered year-round, with only a short pause in May and June.

The offer from Munich is also being expanded: Punta Cana (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic will be served more frequently, with up to three weekly flights.

This expansion provides greater flexibility and availability for long-haul travel in winter, further strengthening Discover Airlines’ leisure route portfolio.

Discover Airlines is expanding its range of destinations to include two new locations in Morocco starting in winter 2026/2027. From the end of October, the leisure airline will connect Frankfurt with the coastal city of Agadir and offer the only direct connection from Munich to the traditional royal city of Fez in the northeast of the country.

Agadir delights visitors with its mild climate, long Atlantic beaches and a wide range of excursion options – ideal for beach holidays, water sports, or tours into Souss Massa National Park and the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Fez fascinates with its historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, centuries‑old architecture and vibrant markets – a highlight for cultural trips and round journeys.

With up to 16 weekly connections to three destinations, Discover Airlines’ Morocco offering will be larger than ever this coming winter.

Starting 23 May 2026, Discover Airlines will fly directly from Frankfurt to Bodø (BOO) in northern Norway for the first time. The city north of the Arctic Circle is the perfect starting point for tours to the spectacular Lofoten Islands. In summer, travelers can expect mild temperatures, impressive fjord landscapes, white sandy beaches, and picturesque mountains. The new seasonal flight (May to September) complements the existing Bodø service from Munich.

In addition, the holiday airline will increase the number of flights from Frankfurt to Jerez de la Frontera (XRY) to up to three weekly connections.
