Brussels Airlines introduces African-inspired meal options on flights from sub-Saharan Africa

(12 January 2026)

Brussels Airlines enhances the onboard experience by celebrating Africa’s rich culinary heritage. Passengers traveling from sub-Saharan African destinations will now be able to enjoy meals inspired by regional flavors, ingredients, and cooking traditions, thoughtfully adapted for inflight service.

With this new initiative, the Africa expert within the Lufthansa Group serving 18 destinations in the region, brings a taste of home onboard.

The meal options will rotate regularly. The first dishes to be introduced include Cape Malay braised chicken with cashew nuts, mango, and coriander for Business Class, and Cod Mbongo, a traditional dish from Cameroon, in Economy Class. These menu options are available alongside the airline’s existing inflight menu.
