Limited services to/from Basel – rail connections ensure seamless connectivity

From 15 April through 20 May 2026, the main runway at Basel Airport will be undergoing renovation. During this period, the Lufthansa Group airlines will not be able to operate flights to or from Basel. The city on the Rhine will, however, remain accessible during this time – via SWISS Air Rail through Zurich and Lufthansa Express Rail through Frankfurt.

The trains operate under a SWISS or Lufthansa flight number and are booked in the same way as a connecting flight. Through fares apply.*

Please use the city code BSL as usual when making inquiries in your reservation system. The train connections will be displayed

• to/from Basel SBB Station (ZDH) with SWISS Air Rail, and
• to/from Basel Badischer Bahnhof (ZBA) with Lufthansa Express Rail
