Lufthansa Allegris on board the Boeing 787-9

The Boeing 787-9 offers three travel classes, with 231 seats in Economy Class, 28 in Premium Economy, and 28 in Business Class. You can already book the four exclusive Business Class Suites in the first row, as well as seats in Premium Economy and Economy Class for your customers. The remaining Business Class seats are currently undergoing certification.

Extra benefit for Business Class travelers:
Until certification is finalized, the Business Class Suites can be reserved free of charge – no advance seat reservation (ASR) fee applies.

Why is Lufthansa launching with only a partially available Business Class?

This is a strategic move: By introducing the Boeing 787-9 early – even with limited Business Class capacity – Lufthansa can train and certify as many cockpit crews as possible on the new aircraft type. This approach allows the airline to efficiently accelerate the renewal of its long-haul fleet.

The goal: By the end of the 2026 summer schedule, up to 20 Dreamliners featuring the new Lufthansa Allegris travel experience are expected to be in service – offering even more comfort, personalization, and choice on long-haul routes.
