Free messaging on long-haul flights
For many business travelers, connectivity is an important part of the travel experience. From summer 2025, Lufthansa will therefore offer unlimited free messaging on intercontinental flights.
Regardless of travel class, passengers can send and receive any number of messages, including photos, on their smartphone or tablet during the flight. The introduction of free messaging on long-haul flights is another important step towards continuously improving the travel experience.
From the summer, Discover Airlines will also be offering free messaging on its long-haul flights - following the example of Lufthansa, which recently introduced this service. Austrian Airlines and SWISS are also making the service available on selected long-haul flights. The introduction of the new free service will noticeably improve the travel experience for guests and at the same time take a further step towards a seamless travel experience within the Lufthansa Group. Of course, the premium internet on board services are still bookable– perfect for working online during the flight.
