New digital self-service for rebooking after advance notice flight schedule changes
Travelers affected by advance notice schedule changes are usually automatically rebooked on alternative flights. They will receive a flight schedule change e-mail with their changed itinerary and can
- use the ticket at a later stage
- receive a refund
- accept the proposed flight
- or rebook via the new option "find alternative flights”
With the new rebooking option, travelers are now automatically redirected to the chat assistant and can manage their flight schedule changes, check alternatives, and rebook their alternative flight as needed - without having to contact the service center and experience waiting times. This allows the traveler to flexibly and easily manage the rebooking process themselves.
This new self-service is available at Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS via the chat assistant (German and English) and is already introduced on Lufthansa.com. For Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and SWISS, the function is planned on the airlines' websites in the second quarter of 2023.
