New baggage drop-off service in Munich and Helsinki
Lufthansa has further expanded its self-service baggage drop-off service: Passengers in all travel classes can now also use this service at Helsinki Airport. This service has also been further expanded for First and Business Class travelers from Munich. This allows business travelers to reduce their waiting time and enjoy their time at the airport even more - for example in the lounges or the duty-free stores.
The Premium Self Baggage Drop Off in Munich:
At Munich Airport, the new Premium Self Baggage Drop Off counters have opened on Level 4 opposite the Business Class check-in. Lufthansa First and Business Class passengers as well as status customers can check in their baggage quickly and conveniently in a special baggage drop-off area: At counters 470 to 474.
First Class and Business Class passengers can also use the Support Desk 469, which is manned around the clock. If this temporary solution proves successful, a permanently installed area is planned for the future, similar to the new Service Center hall concept.
Self Baggage Drop Off in Helsinki:
Lufthansa passengers in all travel classes can now quickly and easily check in their baggage themselves at Helsinki Airport.
Travelers can print out their baggage tag at a CUSS (Common-Use-Self-Service) machine or a Tagomat and attach it to the long side of their baggage. The baggage can then be handed in at the six new baggage drop-off counters with the numbers 309 to 314.
The only exception: passengers with bulky baggage or sports equipment must use the counters of service partner Airpro. Business Class travelers with baggage weighing over 23 kg will receive "heavy tags" from a member of staff. These baggage tags are recognized by the machine and handled accordingly.
