Group travel with ITA Airways available via Book-a-Group
(Update:March 2025)
You can now also book group travel with ITA Airways in conjunction with Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS flights via the established OAL process in Book-a-Group. Bookings are usually confirmed within 24 hours so that you can plan quickly and efficiently.
This provides group travelers, in particular to and from Italy, with a wider choice of destinations and additional travel options.
Please note that ITA Airways group travel without Lufthansa Group airlines flight segments is booked as is through SMART GROUP, the group booking tool of ITA Airways.


Group travel with Air Baltic bookable via Book-a-Group

You can now also book group travel with Air Baltic (IATA Code: BT) in conjunction with Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS flights via the established OAL process in Book-a-Group. This provides group travelers with additional travel options.
Air Dolomiti group trips – soon available via Book-a-Group
(Update: November 2024)
Starting 19 November 2024, you can also book Air Dolomiti flights via Book-a-Group – and thus benefit from a simplified booking process for group requests. Flights operated by Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS and Air Dolomiti can be conveniently booked and confirmed in any desired combination via a single user interface.

Group travel with Widerøe bookable via Book-a-Group
(Update: October 2024)
You can now also book group travel with the Norwegian regional airline Widerøe (IATA code: WF) in conjunction with Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS flights via the established OAL process in Book-a-Group. This provides group travelers with additional travel options within Norway, for example to Ålesund, Bodø, Hammarfest and Kristiansand.

Book-a-Group supports entry of non-binary passenger designation
(Update: March 2024)
Effective 6 March 2024, it will also be possible to enter the non-binary passenger designation MX or "Not specified" (gender code X) for group bookings via Book-a-Group. This applies to adults and children. For babies, it will also be possible to enter XI.
Important: The passenger data entered in the PNR must always match the valid travel document (e.g. the passport).

New starting 1 July 2023: SKCHG/INVOL Policy for group bookings
(Update: July 2023)
In the event of group bookings affected by schedule changes and flight irregularities, processing rules apply that somewhat differ from single-seat bookings. We have now
summarized these rules for you in our new “Lufthansa Group Schedule Change/Irregularity Policy in Group Business for Travel Agents” (Group Business SKCHG/INVOL Policy). The Policy takes effect starting 1 July 2023 for all group bookings issued on Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, and SWISS ticket stock.
New: obligatory provision of a “Group Emergency Contact”
In order to improve the support we provide, a new (English-speaking) “INVOL Group Assistance Team” will handle manual rebookings of affected group PNRs in the event of short-term flight irregularities (INVOL).
Please note: this means that for each group a contact (“Group Emergency Contact”) must be provided who is reachable outside office hours and can make decisions on behalf of the respective group. Please enter this “Group Emergency Contact” as an OSI-Element in the PNR.

Interlining: United Airlines flight numbers now bookable via NDC
(Update:March 2025)
You can now book the UA prime flight numbers (operated by UA) via NDC on routes where no OS/SN/LH/LX codeshares are available. This way you can easily combine flights operated by the Lufthansa Group airlines and United Airlines. The new interlining is available via the Lufthansa Group airlines Direct NDC API, NDC aggregators and SPRK.
Prerequisites:
- OS/SN/LH/LX ticket stock (257/082/220/724)
- The United Airlines flight number (UA) must be combined with a Lufthansa Group flight number (OS/SN/LH/LX) on a transatlantic sector
- No OS/SN/LH/LX codeshares are available on the UA flight segment
- The origin or destination must be in North, Central or South America or the Caribbean with a transfer point in the USA
With the new interlining, you will not only benefit from greater choice, flexibility and new combination options in NDC, but you will also be able to offer your customers seamless travel to many new destinations.
AI-powered chatbot supports SPRK bookings

A new, innovative chatbot is now available in SPRK, the web-based booking platform of the Lufthansa Group airlines. With an intuitive and user-friendly interface, the AI-driven chatbot “Paula” offers fast and precise help at every step of the booking process – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When you book Green Fares via NDC you can now make the most of 24-hour price guarantee reservation – both on long-haul and on European flights! Secure the net fare for up to 24 hours and you can book conveniently at a guaranteed price later on. This way, your customers have a little more time to decide, check any unresolved issues, or make arrangements with traveling companions.
Lufthansa Group airlines are offering you this price guarantee exclusively via NDC (F1) for a limited period for bookings up to and including March 31, 2025.

Your new SPRK contact: the Lufthansa Group Agency Support

will also be available to you for all SPRK-related matters – and will take over the tasks of the previous NDC Service Support (DCSS). The DCSS telephone number will be deactivated on 2 December 2024.

AirPortr: Baggage collection service now bookable via NDC – at a 15% discount

With AirPortr, you can now offer your customers a new baggage collection, check-in and delivery service via NDC. The AirPortr service is displayed as a new partner offer in the ancillary overview for selection after the flight ticket has been issued.
For Austrian Airlines and SWISS flights from London-Heathrow (LHR) to Geneva (GVA), Vienna (VIE) or Zurich (ZRH):
On departure, baggage will be picked up at any address in London and checked in on behalf of your customers.
For Austrian Airlines flights from Vienna (VIE):
On departure, baggage will be picked up at any address in Vienna and checked in on behalf of your customers.
For SWISS flights to/from Geneva (GVA) and Zurich (ZRH):
On departure, baggage will be picked up at any address in Switzerland and checked in on behalf of your customers. On their return to Switzerland, it will be delivered directly to their home or hotel.

New ADM process resulting from technical issues in NDC
(Update: April 2023)
We would like to inform you that our process for ADM disputes due to technical reasons has evolved. From now, you do not need to report the error yourself, our teams will do the investigation on your behalf.
How will it work?
When an ADM is issued and you think a technical error in NDC is the reason, please do the following:
- Dispute the ADM as usual
- Once a reply received, send a copy of the ADM and all related technical information (PCC, FLX locator etc) to the airline email address mentioned in the ADM
- If the technical issue is confirmed as the reason for the ADM, the ADM will be written off

You can now book and collect excess baggage fees exceeding the allowed number of checked baggage with Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS via a Lufthansa Group Airlines NDC API. This applies to one additional piece of baggage (MBAG) as well as the second piece of checked baggage (SBAG) on flights between Europe and USA, Canada, Mexico and Central America.

Star Alliance Round the World Mileage Calculator
Star Alliance, the airline network for Earth™, has further simplified planning round the world flights by launching an easy-to-use online version of its Round the World Mileage Calculator. The new tool is now available online at www.staralliance.com and brings with it two distinct advantages over the existing downloadable version: an enlarged user group, as anyone with internet access can now make use of this tool, irrespective of their computer operating system and real-time schedule information which is retrieved directly through the internet.
The Round the World Mileage Calculator allows customers or travel agents to build complete round the world itineraries online corresponding to the applicable fare rules. Once the full trip has been planned, it can be transmitted to a reservations office of one of the member carriers, be printed and sent to a travel agent for booking and ticketing or simply be saved on the computer for future use. All Star Alliance Round the World fares are attractively priced according to mileage flown and class of travel. The routing can cover a total distance of up to 39,000 miles with a maximum of 15 stopovers. The fare is available for travel in First, Business or Economy Class. Tickets are valid for one year. Additionally, the Star Alliance network also offers a Round the World special fare, which is only available for travel in Economy Class, has a maximum mileage of 26,000, must be purchased seven days prior to departure and permits three to five stopovers.
With the recent inclusion of South African Airways in this product, the number of routings available to passengers has increased, especially within Africa, across the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean. In addition to the Round the World fare, Star Alliance offers a total of ten fare and discount products, including the African, North American and European Air Passes, the Circle Asia and Circle Pacific fares and Conventions Plus, a dedicated product for conventions travel. Mileage accrual through any of the Frequent Flyer Programmes offered by the 18 member carriers is possible when travelling on Star Alliance fare and discount products. Moreover, Star Alliance Gold and Silver card holders are entitled to make use of their status benefits when using these fares.
