Whether your customers want to pre-order their favorite product on their flight now or they need a special meal on a flight with a meal included, Austrian Airlines has the right option for your customers.

If your customer requires a special meal to suit medical, religious, dietary or other specific needs, Brussels Airlines offer a wide choice of different meals. These meals can be ordered via GDS 48hrs before departure, free of charge on all Brussels Airlines long-haul flights and in Business Class on short-haul flights. 

Passengers who require special food for dietary, religious or nutritional reasons have a choice of special meals on Lufthansa-operated flights.

Your customers with special dietary needs can pre-order selected special on SWISS flights . The service is available in all classes of service on long-haul flights and in SWISS Business on selected European flights. A sealed meal is SWISS newest addition, available on long-haul flights departing from Switzerland in the framework of a test.

Your customers are able to choose from the following special meals on Discover Airlines flights:

- Vegan (VGML)
- Lactose Free (NLML)
- Gluten Free (GFML)
- Kosher (KSML)
- Children´s meals (CHML)


On Discover Airlines flights to and from Canada, the following special meals are also available:

- Asian vegetarian (Indian) meal (AVML)
- Muslim meal (MOML)

The various special meals can be booked via the corresponding SSR element (Amadeus) or via the Discover Airlines Service Center. The booking must be made no later than 48 hours before departure by entering the booking code (filekeys) and is free of charge.

With the aim of highlighting Austrian hospitality and culinary delights, Austrian Airlines is introducing a new culinary concept on long-haul flights: “Tastefully Austrian.” Highlights in Business Class include a bar snack with a welcome drink and the addition of soup to the menu. Travelers can also expect new recipes and creations in Premium Economy and Economy Class.

After a three-year-long pause due to the pandemic, Austrian Airlines and catering partner DO & CO are planning the comeback of the “Flying Chefs.” Starting April 2023, the chefs will once again pamper Business Class guests on Austrian Airlines long-haul flights with culinary delights—and offer an unforgettable gourmet experience above the clouds with top-class service.

Brussels Airlines is once again extending its collaboration with Belgian chocolatier Neuhaus. After a three-year break, the large praline boxes will make their reappearance on board long-haul flights and every Business Class passenger will receive a chocolate gift box.

Business Class guests on short- and medium-haul flights can now look forward to an improved menu, more variety and more fresh products with a Belgian culinary touch. Porcelain tableware rounds off the upgraded in-flight experience – and ensures greater sustainability at the same time.

Discover Airlines welcomes its Business Class guests on board with a welcome drink and then serves an individual three-course meal. Guests can choose from a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian specialties on all long-haul flights. They can also expect a hot breakfast or dinner depending on the time of day. Available at any time: an exclusive selection of drinks to complete the enjoyment.

Premium Economy Class guests will receive two complimentary meals, consisting of a hot vegetarian or non-vegetarian dish, a side dish, and a dessert. Soft drinks, hot beverages, wine, sparkling wine, and beer are included.

On Discover Airlines long-haul flights guests receive two complimentary meals in Economy Class. This offer includes a hot meal (vegetarian or non-vegetarian option available) and a warm Discover cookie for dessert. Hot beverages and soft drinks are included. The ​menu of the Onboard Bar completes the offering with additional snacks and alcoholic beverages for purchase.

Travelers are greeted with a welcome drink and then get served with an exclusive meal consisting of a main course, side and dessert. The culinary experience is complemented with additional snacks and a large selection of drinks on flights with a flight time of two hours or more.

On short and medium-haul flights, guests in Economy Class can purchase delicious meals, sandwiches or snacks along with a large selection of drinks from the Onboard Bar.

Edelweiss offers a cold appetizer, main course and a dessert. Different menus are available from and to Zurich.

On the flights back to Switzerland, in addition to a Swiss meal, there is also a choice of typical local dishes from the holiday destinations overseas, created by local chefs and tasted by our food testers. Because good food makes for a good holiday mood, a dessert inspired by one of our dream destinations is presented on long-haul flights from Switzerland.

The specially developed Edelweiss Box is fresh, unique and modern for serving. It also elegantly covers food, eliminating the need for a disposable plastic lid. In line with the desire to make the on-board experience as sustainable as possible, the Edelweiss Box is reusable.

Water, soft drinks and hot drinks are complimentary in Economy Class. Alcoholic beverages are available for a fee. Credit and debit cards as well as Google and Apple Pay are accepted as a method of payment.

Edelweiss offers a cold appetizer, main course and a dessert. Different menus are available from and to Zurich. All dishes are served on lightweight ceramic tableware. 

Good food is best enjoyed with a good wine. The exclusive wines are selected to match the season and menus. Additionally, a Rosé and Brut Sélection champagne from the Gruet winery are also available.

For those with a sweet tooth, Chocolatier Beschle's chocolates are offered.

BASIC and SMART customers will receive snacks and drinks at reasonable prices during the on-board service.

Business Class passengers can choose their individual meals free of charge from our menu. For the sophisticated palate, our menu features a selection of quality products distinguished by their regional origin, preparation, and unique ingredients.

Board, take off, relax: Lufthansa is adding new highlights to the culinary offering in Business Class on long-haul flights:

• The new signature drink Avionic will be served as a welcome drink as an alternative to water and sparkling wine. The Avionic Apéritif, which is based on peach notes and wild meadow herbs, is mixed on ice with tonic.

• A special handmade bread developed exclusively for Lufthansa by World Baker of the Year 2022 Axel Schmitt will be served with handmade butter and high-quality olive oil as an appetizer. In each quarter, there will be a different type of bread specially created for Lufthansa.

• For the first time ever, Business Class guests will be served a vegetarian amuse-bouche, from antipasti to sushi, as a prelude to the first service on board.

• There is a new, modular snack offer for in between meals, which varies depending on the length of the route and time of day. This includes snacks, fresh fruit and, on longer flights, fresh savory and sweet treats such as tomato and mozzarella skewers or wraps with pastrami.

• Starting June 2024, every passenger will be given a small box of Lindt chocolates in an exclusive Lufthansa design as a farewell gift. Lufthansa Business Class guests will thus be offered an all-round appealing service, from the welcome moment to the

Lufthansa passengers have the opportunity on all cross-border European flights to Frankfurt and Munich, on which Onboard Delights are offered, to purchase fresh meals, such as salads, bowls, and sandwiches that have not been sold by then shortly before landing at a lower price of € 3.50 and take them with them. As the fresh meals are deliberately prepared without colorants or preservatives, they have a short shelf life and must be disposed of if they are not sold on the designated flights. Onboard Delights Last Minute is therefore another step towards reducing food waste on board.

Austrian, SWISS, and Eurowings have already been offering unsold food at reduced prices since 2022. As a result, about 80,000 food products were consumed in 2022 that would otherwise have been disposed of.
