SWISS Senses – The new experience on long-haul flights

Would your customers like to discover the new SWISS Senses long-haul experience? Then we have good news for you. You can now book flights with the new SWISS First, SWISS Business, SWISS Premium Economy, and SWISS Economy on board, and secure your customers' preferred seats at the time of booking.

SWISS Senses will be available for travel between Zurich and Boston starting 1 January 2026. More destinations will gradually be added over the next few months, and these can then also be booked for departures starting in 2026.

What to look out for during the introductory phase

In early October 2025, the first brand-new SWISS Airbus A350-900 landed in Zurich. During the introductory phase, the A350 featuring a completely redesigned cabin as part of the new SWISS Senses long-haul experience will initially be deployed on selected short-haul routes from Zurich, including Düsseldorf, Hanover, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Prague.

On 20 November 2025, the first long-haul flight will follow on the Zurich–Boston route.

The Airbus A350 on short-haul flights

Initially, the A350 will operate on selected short-haul routes to and from Zurich. Please note the following special details:

  • SWISS Economy: available for booking
  • SWISS Premium Economy: not available for booking. A seat in SWISS Premium Economy can be reserved in advance with an Economy Class ticket and a Preferred Zone Seat* selection.
  • SWISS Business: available for booking
    • SWISS Business guests can select their preferred seat type free of charge.
    • The Business Suite is exclusively available to HON Circle Members and Senators.
  • SWISS First: not available

2 If a different aircraft is deployed for operational reasons, the seat reservation will apply to a Preferred Zone Seat in SWISS Economy.

The Airbus A350 on long-haul flights

On 20 November 2025, the A350 will start operating on the Zurich–Boston route.1 Until the end of the year, the following booking details apply:

  • SWISS Economy: available for booking. Seats can be reserved in advance for a fee.
  • SWISS Premium Economy: not available for booking. Upgrades to SWISS Premium Economy are only possible at the airport check-in or gate at a reduced rate.
  • SWISS Business: available for booking
    • Guests in SWISS Business can choose from three seat types free of charge – Privacy Seat, Extra Long Bed Seat, or Classic Seat (subject to availability).
    • The Business Suite is exclusively available to HON Circle Members and Senators at no extra cost.
  • SWISS First: available for booking
    • The First Suite Plus for single use is exclusively available to HON Circle Members and Senators at no extra cost.

You have the option of reserving a preferred seat for your customers in all travel classes via the usual booking and handling process for advance seat reservations (ASR). As is currently the case, passengers who have not made a seat reservation in advance will be allocated one of the remaining seats free of charge at check-in at the latest.

In SWISS First, your customers can choose between the Suite and the Suite Plus. The First Class SuiteThe link will be opened in a new browser tab is located next to the window and can always be reserved free of charge. The First Class Suite PlusThe link will be opened in a new browser tab, in the middle of the cabin, offers passengers traveling alone maximum privacy and comfort for a fee. Advance seat reservations can be made through the familiar ASR process. There is also the option of booking the Suite Plus for two people traveling together. In SWISS Business your customers can choose between five different seats. The Business Class Classic SeatThe link will be opened in a new browser tab can always be booked free of charge and offers all the benefits of the new product. There is the option to book seats with additional comfort for a fee (the Business Class SuiteThe link will be opened in a new browser tab with closeable doors and the Extra Space SeatThe link will be opened in a new browser tab with plenty of room), depending on frequent flyer status or the selected fare. Good to know: During the introductory phase, the Privacy SeatThe link will be opened in a new browser tab right next to the window, and the Extra Long Bed SeatThe link will be opened in a new browser tab with a 2.2-meter-long / 7ft 2in-long bed can be booked free of charge.

In SWISS Premium EconomyThe link will be opened in a new browser tab, passengers can reserve their preferred seat in advance for a fee. When booking the Premium Economy Flex fare, the advanced seat reservation is included free of charge.

In SWISS EconomyThe link will be opened in a new browser tab, passengers can reserve their preferred seat in advance for a fee. On the Economy Flex fare, the reservation of an Economy Classic Seat is free of charge.

Rebookings and refunds of advance seat reservations in SWISS Senses First and Business

If, in the case of a rebooking or change of aircraft type, the originally purchased seat category is no longer available, the charges for the advance seat reservation (ASR EMD) can be refunded in most instances.

In the case of the cancelation and refund of a ticket, in most instances you can also refund the advance seat reservation fee (ASR EMD) – regardless of whether it involves a refund on a voluntary (for refundable fares) or involuntary basis.

Exclusive benefits for status customers

HON Circle Members enjoy special privileges when booking SWISS Senses flights.

As is currently the case, HON Circle Members can reserve any seat free of charge in SWISS Economy and SWISS Premium Economy (exception: Economy Light fare). In SWISS Business, HON Circle Members will only incur a charge for reserving the SWISS Business Suite. All other seats – and that’s up to 80% of the Business Class seats – can be booked free of charge for HON Circle Members.

In addition, the privileges which HON Circle Members enjoy will also apply to traveling companions who are booked under the same PNR.

Senators enjoy special privileges when booking SWISS Senses flights.

As is currently the case, Senators can reserve any seat free of charge in SWISS Economy and SWISS Premium Economy (exception: Economy Light fare). In SWISS Business, in addition to the Classic Seat, Senators can also reserve the Extra Space Seat and the Privacy Seat at no extra cost.

In addition, the privileges which Senators enjoy will also apply to traveling companions who are booked under the same PNR.

What's next for SWISS Senses

SWISS Senses will be introduced for the first time in January 2026 in the newly delivered Airbus A350-900. By 2031, SWISS will gradually add a total of ten brand-new Airbus A350-900 aircraft to its fleet.

In addition, the completely redesigned cabin will also be gradually rolled out to other aircraft types such as the Airbus A330 and Boeing 777.
